Membership Application

This is our third year for the Audubon Young Birders Club and we have an exciting season planned. The Young Birders Club is geared to children ages 6-18 years old (any child under 6 should be accompanied by an adult). Each new club member will receive a backpack with a T-shirt, birders guide, and binoculars with the annual $10 membership fee. Returning members will receive a special renewal gift.

Our season will include some exciting adventures to many of our wonderful nature spots to observe all the flora and fauna of the area. Most of the outings will be on weekends, so we would encourage the parents to come along for the fun. Outings begin in September, 2009, and go through May, 2010.

Below is a calendar of events that we have planned. Because each event is limited to 25 participants, please RSVP to the contact below to insure a place in the particular program.

Special thanks from Audubon Young Birders

A Big Thank-you to Jim Forester and The Forester Group who donated supplies to build  Bluebird Nest Boxes for our Young Birders Club Bluebird Rescue Team Project, and to Gregg Beall for building them.

The Young Birders Club is currently working with local schools to document data for a Bluebird Monitoring Trail. We have 4 elementary schools so far that are participating in the project. Thank you for supporting the Audubon!

Games

The Migration Game: Try to help your flock migrate safely by learning how choices you make each and every day around your home, school, and neighborhood can affect the fate of migrating birds -- in both positive and negative ways. By the time you're done, you'll have the skills and knowledge to help birds thrive and survive around your home. Begin the game.

Eagle Eyes: Find five differences in each set of photos by clicking on the difference in either photo. When you're correct, a circle will appear around the difference in each photo. Begin the game.

Jigsaw Puzzles: Put the bird puzzle pieces together to create the photograph of the bird. Move pieces around using your computer's mouse. Begin the game.

Words About Birds: Find birds and birding terms in this word search. A list of the hidden words is just below the puzzle. Begin the game.
